Start/Check-in Location

The exact location of the start/finish line and check-in will be revealed as we get closer to the race. A pre-race email will go out to all registered participants about 1-week before with details to prepare for the race.

How To Get There?

Traveling to Koh Mak requires a bit of planning. We've prepared some helpful information so you can arrange your travel to the island.

Where To Stay?

The Island of Koh Mak has several boutique resorts on the pristine beaches. Space can be limited, so we recommend booking reservations right away to guarantee a room for your journey.

I'm A Slow Runner, Can I Do This Race?

Yes. You can accomplish anything you want as long as you set your mind to do it and train for it. The race is planned for participants of all abilities—including walkers. If you are new to running or this is your race we suggest doing the 5K distance and training as much as possible to prepare for an awesome race.

The Marathon has a 6-hour cut-off time limit.

Will The Course Be Marked?

Yes. The course will be clearly marked using a combination of colored flags, flagging tape, and directional signs at key turning points. Flag colors will correspond to the route and race bib colors.

Will There Be Aid-Stations?

Yes. There will be several stations with water, gel packs, and salt tablets, snacks, with a few key stations providing fruit, food, and basic first aid if needed. At the finish line there will be water and food. We recommend you carry either a water bottle and/or hydration pack. Each aid station will include fresh water to refill your supply.

Proper hydration is essential when running any distance, but especially on long-distance races. One of the greatest dangers for runners is completing the race in a dehydrated state. We encourage runners to plan on being hydrated throughout the event.

How's The Weather?

The Island of Koh Mak has a tropical climate, November starts the best season of the year with milder temperatures averaging about 84°F/28°C, mostly clear days, and little to no rain.

Will The Race Be Cancelled Due To Rain?

No. We will do our best to host the race whether it’s sunny, raining, or anything in between. Thailand has a tropical climate that can often have short periods of rain showers and then clear up to sunny weather. Fortunately, the temperatures are always warm and pleasant. The weather only adds to the adventure to make for an awesome race experience!

Yet, there are still potential risks that are beyond our control that could cause a race to be canceled. We hope that will never happen, however, we do have an event cancellation policy.

Can I Change My Race Distance?

Yes. Distance change requests are available, the cut-off for all changes is 1-week before the race date. Submit a change request from the contact page.

Why Is Entry Fees in US Dollars?

Our parent organization is located in the United States and has all registrations processed there.  Our registration platform will handle currency exchanges automatically when paying with a credit card.
